For G12 students: Macroeconomic review

There are two power points that you can access by going to the G 12 Students page and using the drop-down menu. Use them  to review your understanding of the initial concepts in Macroeconomic theory 1) This power point reviews the main influences on AD and AS and introduces the LRAS 2) This one summarises the arguments between the new classical and Keynesian viewpoints

Start of the school year: 2014-15

Welcome to students (both in G11 and G12) who are looking at this blog for the first time and welcome back to students who have seen it all before.

I would like you to tell me what resources would be useful to you and I will try to supply them.

In your studies, remember the words of J.M. Keynes: “The Theory of Economics does not furnish a body of settled conclusions immediately applicable to policy. It is a method rather than a doctrine, an apparatus of the mind, a technique of thinking, which helps its possessor to draw correct conclusions.”

There are NO “settled conclusions“–every theory or policy can be criticised and rethought. You should be trying to develop ” a technique of thinking”  NOT memorizing content.  I will, therefore, be trying to help you acquire the tools that will enable you to analyse and evaluate economic theories and policies.

I hope that you all enjoy this school year and that you learn a lot!
